    Progress Photos - August 2009 (-53 pounds)

Wow, it's been some week! This is a photo from a birthday party I attended yesterday. KFC, Cheesecake and Lasagna each came a calling. I definitely indulged a little bit, but I still managed to stay on plan. Not bad after 5 months right?
I look stronger and I feel stronger too. My favorite body part right now is the arm and back area. I can see alot of definition there. Knee's still a pain, but swimming is helping.

I did it! 50 Pounds Down!

Halfway to my 100 pound milestone. Only 50 more to go (and hopefully gone by the end of the year). I realize there about 135 more pounds to lose overall, but I can't tell you how exhilarating it is to see nearly 1/3 of this weight disappear.

I've decided to treat myself to some special "gifts" for my hard work earned when I meet milestones too!

50 pounds - A gold necklace (or earring) - not sure yet.
75 pounds - New Cell Phone
    100 pounds - Bike
    125 pounds - ???
150 pounds - Nintendo Wii (w/ Fit Board)
    Goal - ???

    Dessert, Anyone?

If you've got a mean sweet tooth and find yourself a-fixin' to down that box of Oreos in your kitchen cupboard, don't do it! I've got a better idea.
    Get on your sneakers.
Walk on down to your neighborhood supermarket and hit the freezer section.
Now shimmy over to the Dessert section.
    You heard me correct. DESSERT.
The geniuses at Weight Watchers have created the perfect guilt free dessert for sugar addicts like us. Their Smart One's Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Sundae is sooo good, I guarantee that you'll scrape the edge of the container with your spoon (and maybe even your mouth) before you toss it. I was pretty upset when Weight Watcher's decided to chuck their Key Lime Cheesecake from production, but I must say, this is a mighty fine substitute. Picture vanilla ice cream atop a chocolate chip cookie crust, with fudge topping and chunks of cookie dough in between. And at just 3 points, you can afford to eat both servings in the box if you're feeling greedy and not completely blow your diet.

    Four Pounds Away from 50!

I'm just ounces away from reaching half of my 100 pound goal. When I started the program in April, my goal was to lose the lionshare of my excess weight (at least 100 of the 185 pounds I'd gained over the course of my life) by the close of this year. At this rate, I might just make it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

It's a bit exciting because I can't remember a time in my life when I didn't struggle with weight. I started this journey at a size 24/26. I'm a size 22 now! I spent five years trapped in a 3x, and now I can finally slide into a 2x. Some of my 2x's actually fit a lot looser now than they had when I purchased them and it feels so good to see my hard work paying off.

When I hit the 100 pound goal, I will be 220 pounds again and I'll probably cry. Sure, that may seem alot to the average person, but I'm pretty tall and when I was 220 pounds, I looked pretty decent. Boy, those were the days! Mini skirts with hemlines above the knee, sexy catsuits, and boots that fit over my calves. Okay I had to wrestle the boots on, but at least I could get them all the way up!

The last time I was 220 pounds, I was 18 years old and a freshman in college. I was a size 16/18 and had just discovered my sensuality. After years of hiding my body in bad clothes, I wanted to flaunt it. I had a body type very similar to Shayla's from "Dance Your Ass Off" actually. Thick, a tinsy-winsy belly, not too flabby. Now, almost everything is flabby!

I have alot of respect for Shayla by the way. :) Not only is she a great dancer, but she's doing things in dresses I could never have imagined doing when I was her size (and to a TV audience no less). I'm enjoying Ruben, Pinky and Mara too.
